Q |
What do I need
to bring? |
|
A |
Yourselves, comfortable
clothing, travel documents so you can visit neighboring British Virgin
Islands and an attitude to have fun! Remember this is a part of
the United States, and almost anything you get at home is available
here. |
|
Q |
Will I need to rent a car or jeep? |
|
A |
We strongly
recommend having your own transportation to maximize your freedom and
independence. It is absolutely the best way to explore, discover and
enjoy the delights of your island holiday. St. Thomas’ roads are well
paved and moderately hilly, but do not require a jeep to get around. We
do offer alternative taxi service. With one call to the property
manager your entire week’s transportation can be arranged in advance if
you wish! |
|
Q |
How do I get to my villa from
the airport? |
|
A |
Guests arriving and renting a
car at the airport will be met at the rental counter (Avis, Budget,
Hertz) by a villa escort (who will have a sign with your name on it),
and they will assist you in retrieving your vehicle and lead you to your
Caribbean vacation home. Guests requiring personal transportation
directly from the airport can arrange to be picked up by private vehicle
for a minimum fee (inquire at the time of reservation). |
|
Q |
Where is the
nearest grocery store? |
|
A |
There are
several grocery stores within 5-10 mins. of your villa. Marina
Market in Red Hook is the closest. It is highly recommended for
it's outstanding selection of meats and sea foods. Plaza Extra in
Tutu Park Mall is the largest with incredible variety and it's own deli
and bakery. You will receive directions after check-in. |
|
Q |
Where is the closest
beach? Is it within walking distance of my villa? |
|
A |
Several of St.
Thomas' most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean and the world are within
3-15 mins. driving distance. Your villa overlooks magnificent
Sapphire Beach with it's palm tree lined white sands and eastern trade
winds, ideal for parasailing and windsurfing. Walking in general
is discouraged on St. Thomas' out of town roads, because of their
infrequent sidewalks, tree grown shoulders and hidden corners.
Coki Point Beach (7 mins.) is renowned for it's incredible snorkeling,
scuba and fish feeding activities. Magen's Bay Beach (15 mins.) is
the precious gem of St. Thomas, rated one of the Top 10 Most Beautiful
Beaches by National Geographic and The Travel Channel. It has a
1-mile long, crescent shaped, soft white sand shoreline, sheltered by
looming evergreen mountains overlooking a smooth turquoise bay. It
is complete with beach concession, bar, gift shop, bathroom facilities
and picnic sheds. As a member of the V.I. Parks and Recreation
System, fitness and book lovers alike will enjoy this beach.
Remember... ALL St. Thomas beaches are open to the public. With
the exception of Magen's Bay, which charges a nominal entrance fee, they
are all FREE for your use. Chaise lounge rentals, lunch,
refreshments and local arts are available at many beaches. There
are MANY other beaches to discover and explore! |
|
Q |
Are there many activities or nightlife close to my villa? |
|
A |
Visible from your villa are the
many hotels and resorts
of St.
Thomas' East End, which offer live local music, dancing, shows and beach
parties. A variety of restaurants, delis and bars (Duffy's Love
Shack, Blue Moon Cafe, XO, Whale of a Tale, Molly Malone's, Off the
Hook, Sopchoppy's, Grateful Deli, Burrito Bay Deli, Sea Grape, Romano's,
Agave) provide an eclectic variety of food and energetic night spots.
If you love marine sports or attractions, a stone's throw away you can
find bare-boating, crewed yachting, scuba certification, jet skiing,
deep sea fishing, day sailing and the Coral World Marine Observatory
Park with it's newest Sea Trekking adventure. For the athlete,
Mahogany Run Golf Course or the many resort tennis courts await.
Shopper's unite and visit Elizabeth Jane's vast silver collection or hop
the ferry to St. John and browse the unique and elegant hand crafted
treasures of Mongoose Junction. For the very adventurous, a 20 min.
drive to down town Charlotte Amalie is a shop-a-holics heaven! |
|
Q |
The rates are quoted in nights instead of days. How do you define a
week? |
|
A |
A week
consists of 7 nights or 8 days. For example from a Saturday arrival to
Saturday departure. Reservations can originate from any day of the
week. |
|
Q |
Why is the garden cottage available only to groups of 3 – 6? Can
couples reserve the garden cottage without the main villa? |
|
A |
The main villa is larger and
more equipped with all the amenities required for
a fulfilling stay. The garden cottage is an extension of the main
villa. A party of 2 is booked automatically in the main villa.
However, if they wish to have use of the garden
cottage, they are welcome to reserve both units at an adjusted rate. |
